Women Losing their Periods from Running:

Again…Inexperienced Coaches and Trainers are hurting their athletes and clients.

If you are a female and your running plan, or the plan your coach designed you, makes you lose your monthly Period, then you are not training with sense and safety. I know it’s a weird comment to make but I see this all the time in talks to city running clubs, Middle & High School cross country runners, Collegiate Runner’s, many soccer players, basketball players, female athletes, and just women who like to run. I’ve had tons of girls, women, and Mom’s of female athletes reach out to me for help for this issue for years.

Over-running, over-Training, poor Nutrition, and or lack of proper rest/recovery leads to a breakdown of immune systems, loss of menstrual cycles, CNS Central Nervous System issues, structural decay/wear and tear like bones, joints, ligaments, tendons, and muscles, and also un-healthy weight loss especially muscle loss.

Many times these youth, young adults, and adults are told to run every day or run every other day with leg work on few off days. Many are pushed by their inexperienced coaches or trainers and are hurting.

Running should never make you lose your monthly menstrual cycle.

Running should never hurt you it should be enjoyable.
